Suzlon Wind Energy signs deal with Edison Mission Group Print E-mail

Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation has signed another 105MW deal with Edison Mission Group for 50 units of Suzlon`s S88-2.1MW wind turbines.

The delivery of the units is expected to begin in mid 2007. After the deal, the Suzlon Energy has a current consolidated order book position of Rs 45.87 billion (€ 770 million), with Rs 37.87 billion (€ 636 million) in international orders and Rs 8 billion (€ 134 million) in domestic orders. With the deal, the company`s cumulative international order book position reached at 670.9MW. During the June`06 quarter, Suzlon Energy posted a rise of 221.91 per cent in net profit to Rs 1936 million (€ 32 million) as compared with Rs 601.40 million (€ 10 million) for the quarter ended June 30, 2005.
