Foundations for first six alpha ventus turbines installed Print E-mail
Friday, 12 June 2009
With the installation of the last of six 'tripod' foundations for the Areva Multibrid M5000 5MW wind turbines, a major construction stage in Germany's first offshore wind farm, alpha ventus, has been completed by DOTI (Deutsche Offshore-Testfeld und Infrastruktur Gesellschaft mbH & Co. KG).

Located 45 kilometres off the coast of the island of Borkum, alpha ventus is a joint undertaking by the companies EWE, E.ON and Vattenfall. Multibrid GmbH is responsible for the construction and installation of the six M5000 machines. Preparations are also beginning at the alpha ventus construction site for laying the foundations for six further wind turbines. The REpower 5M turbines for these will be supplied by REpower Systems AG.
