Romax Technology has issued the first service pack for its latest RomaxDesigner R12.6 software.
The interim release contains two new modules as well as updates and
extensions to existing modules. The first of the two new modules
introduced in the service pack is a new advanced spherical roller
bearing module that takes into consideration the profiling effect of
the bearing rollers and raceways. The second is a new gearbox
efficiency module that includes features such as gear drag used to
determine the power losses from individual gears. The implementation of
gear mesh alignment contribution is another new feature that allows the
contribution of shafts, bearings, gears and housing to the overall
misalignment of a gear mesh to be reported. An analysis setting "Use
gear mesh rotation mismesh analysis" has also been added to allow gears
to be rotated on their mounting shaft away from their nominal
calculated rotations and take into account gear initial rotation errors.
