Acciona is awarded the construction of a wind farm in Canada Print E-mail
Monday, 28 January 2008

Acciona Energy has been awarded the installation of a 49.5MW wind park in Canada.

With an investment of CAN$ 103.5 million (€ 69 million), the Lamèque wind park will consist of thirty-three 1.5MW turbines of in-house technology. The selection of Acciona to carry out the project is the result of a public tender called in May 2007 by NB Power, the regional electric utility company, to acquire wind power from private developers. The wind park is wholly owned by Acciona Wind Energy Canada Inc., which will build and operate the facility and sign a power purchase agreement with NB Power for 25 years. The wind turbines will be supplied from the plant that the company recently opened in Iowa, USA.
