CWEE2009
New spin-off company in the Dutch Offshore Industry Print E-mail
Thursday, 17 January 2008

The Ampelmann project team of the Delft University of Technology successfully tested their new offshore access system, the Ampelmann, at the Shell-owned Offshore Wind Farm at Egmond aan Zee (OWEZ).

This new method of marine personnel transfer consists of a six-legged hydraulic motion compensation platform with a telescoping access bridge mounted on top, providing safe and easy access to any offshore installation. Responding to the large numbers of international inquiries regarding potential applications and availability, the Ampelmann project team just launched the Ampelmann Company LTD. The team expects to start production of the first commercial available unit's mid-2008, with first delivery (6 month production time) before the end of 2008.
