Orders for Vestas in the USA Print E-mail

Vestas has received an order for 55 units of the V82-1.65MW wind turbine in the USA. The turbines, which have a total installed capacity of 91MW, will be delivered as the first phase of the Notrees Windpower project, located in Ector and Winkler counties in Texas.

The order has been placed by Duke Energy. Vestas will supply and commission the 55 wind turbines and provide service and maintenance for three years. The turbines are scheduled for delivery in the second half of 2008, and commissioning is expected to be completed at the end of 2008. Further Vestas has received an order for 242 units of the V82-1.65MW wind turbine in the USA. Horizon Wind Energy has placed the order, and the wind turbines, which will have a total installed capacity of 400MW, will be delivered to Horizon owned wind projects in the USA. Vestas will supply and commission the turbines, and the order also comprises a five-year service and maintenance agreement. Delivery is expected to begin at the end of 2008 and will continue through 2009. Vestas has also received an order for 33 units of the V90-3.0 MW wind turbine in the USA. Vestas will supply and commission the turbines which will be installed at the Central Plains Wind Farm, a 99 MW project in Wichita County between Leoti and Scott City in western Kansas. The order has been placed by RES Americas. The order also comprises a five-year service and maintenance agreement. Delivery and commissioning of the 33 wind turbines is scheduled for the second half of 2008.
