Tuesday, 06 March 2007

Vestas has received an order for a total of 24MW of the V90-3.0MW wind turbine for a project in the Tehachapi Pass area in Southern California, USA.

The order has been placed by Alite Wind, LLC. Alite Wind, LLC is part of the Allco Wind Energy group and is 100 per cent owned by Allco Finance Group Limited , based in Sydney Australia. The 24MW project is the first phase of the Alta Wind Energy Center that is under development in the Tehachapi (California) wind resource area. Vestas will supply and commission the wind turbines, as well as provide maintenance and service for a five-year period. Shipment of the first turbines will begin in the third quarter of 2007, and the wind farm will be operational in October this year.
