REpower Systems has openend a new technology center in Osterrönfeld, Germany. Around 470 employees, primarily from Research and Development, Technical Support and Service, are accommodated at the new research and technology complex.
Previously, these departments were located at sites in Rendsburg, Büdelsdorf and Husum. The research and technology center has approximately 11,700 square meters of usable floor space in total. It consists of two structures: a nine-story office building and a second, trapezoid-shaped building with four floors. In addition to research activities and further development of the REpower wind turbines and products, the worldwide service and maintenance of onshore and offshore turbines will be organised from the Osterrönfeld location.
